Atelier 21 is a Future School that wants to change the world by making visible the unique way we do school.
We want to prove that just because school has always been roughly delivered one way, that it can be changed, deconstructed and reconstructed into something that better meets the needs of young learners facing a less certain future in the modern world.
We think of parents as partners in our pupils’ learning and we want to create an actively engaged community that is working together to enrich the learning of your child, but also to try to make the world a bit better too. Current parent committees include – The Hive, a parent group of volunteers put forward ideas from the parent community for the development of the school. The Hive will regularly collaborate with our SLT and will provide feedback on how their ideas will be implemented. We also have a parent group known the Atelier Community Association (ACA) – (the school’s equivalent of a PTA) that organise fundraising and other seasonal events for the community. The parents have also formed a nutrition group supporting the chef in ensuring healthy nutritious meals that their children will enjoy.
Our See Saw online App gives primary pupils and their families a digital recording which can be accessed from school and home with photos, videos and examples of work and pupils and teacher assessments. We have a parent App called MySchoolApp to provide parents with news, class and trip information.
