MORE ABOUT APPLICATIONS

Once we have received your application form we will contact you to arrange a family meeting. We do not select students on academic ability, but we do ensure that the whole family have similar educational values as Atelier 21 as we want to protect our culture.

The meeting is a space for both to ask questions and for you to get a feel for whether the school is right for you, and for us to decide if we believe your family will thrive as part of our progressive school community.

The last step is for your child to attend a taster morning for free, and for the teaching staff to decide if we can offer your child a place at our school.

We won’t be looking for your child to prove they can do anything in particular, we are simply making sure they can thrive in our environment.  The vast majority of children will, but we reserve the right to politely refuse a place if we feel strongly that we can’t meet your child’s needs.

If your child has attended one of our Little Barn Owls Nurseries, your child will be awarded a place in Reception Class at Atelier 21 (space dependent) without having to attend a taster day, unless you would like your child to do so.  We would still require a family meeting to take place with one of our school leaders.

We would love for our school to be free and accessible by all families, but as that’s not possible we have designed our fees to be as highly competitive in comparison to local private schools. We have deliberately narrowed the range of increase of fees as children move into the older year groups, to aid families in making a long-term commitment to the school for their child to reap the most benefits.

TERM DATES

AFTER SCHOOL OPTIONS

We offer wrap around care from 7.30am to 6pm by way of breakfast and afterschool clubs.

As we are a small school all children will mix together in breakfast and afterschool club and one activity will be offered per day, which children can join in with if they want to. The students vote on what activities are on offer the term before in School Circle meetings.

All pupils are required to be collected no later that 6pm when school closes. Our bus service leaves school at 4.30pm, therefore children in afterschool club need to be collected from school.

SCHOOL BUS SERVICE

We have a school bus service that collects and drops off at a specific point in Horsham at 8am and 4.45pm every day.

We plan to expand the service from 2021 to include buses collecting and dropping off children from north, south, east and westerly directions from the school, however our service route is decided on according to the needs of the families using it, so if we have a few families in roughly the same direction there is every likelihood we can offer an additional route.

The service is charged at a termly rate.
